Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair static plant equipment in a safe, efficient, and compliant manner.
  • Carry out planned maintenance, inspections, and servicing in line with manufacturer and Heidelberg Materials standards.
  • Ensure plant is kept in good physical order, including greasing, cleaning, and general upkeep.
  • Complete daily inspection sheets and maintenance documentation accurately.
  • Identify, report, and escalate defects or issues to the line manager, supervisor, or chargehand.
  • Operate plant and machinery safely and in an energy efficient manner.
  • Complete near–miss and safety reports as required by site management.
  • Support safe start‑up and shutdown of plant equipment.
  • Demonstrate good timekeeping and reliability.

Qualifications & Experience (Essential)

  • Computer literate.
  • Good general education with a strong understanding of health & safety and quarry regulations.
  • EPIC certification to operate mobile plant.
  • NVQ Level 2 in Mobile Plant Operations (following EPIC completion).
  • Safety awareness of industrial gases.
  • Practical experience in burning and welding operations.
