We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Librarian to catalogue and arrange an extensive collection of books in our office. The primary responsibility is to implement and maintain a logical organizational system that enhances storage efficiency and accessibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Catalogue all items stored on office metal shelving.
- Organize shelving using a clear and consistent system such as the Dewey Decimal system.
- Ensure all materials are logically arranged and easy to locate.
- Label shelves and contents as needed to maintain seamless organization.
- Review and optimize existing storage processes for improved efficiency.
- Maintain the organizational system on an ongoing basis, ensuring everything is in its rightful place.
Required Experience & Skills
- Previous experience in a library setting preferred, especially in cataloguing books.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to create and implement structured systems independently.
- Good problem-solving skills and a practical, proactive approach.
- Comfortable working with physical inventory and office storage.
- Basic IT skills (e.g., Excel or simple tracking systems) beneficial.
Desirable (Not Essential)
- Experience with cataloguing systems such as library, archive, or stock systems.
- Familiarity with structured filing methods (alphabetical, numerical, categorical frameworks).
- A methodical and highly organized mindset.
- Reliable and able to work autonomously.
- A practical and hands-on approach to tasks.
