Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience in program management.
  • Experience with data visualisation in Python, Vibe Coding, Tableau or Power BI.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Experience in program management within the networking area, including delivering infrastructure assets.
  • Proficient in navigating ambiguity and identifying opportunities for optimization whilst possessing problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of fiber optic systems/submarine cable ecosystems and working understanding of EMEA and global carrier networks.
  • Strong problem solving and financial skills with the ability to adopt data-driven, investigative approaches towards solving complex challenges.
  • Strong communication skills and collaboration with a range of people and job functions.

Responsibilities

  • Transform complex datasets from subsea cable systems and landing stations into actionable insights by developing advanced analytics tools and interactive Looker dashboards that facilitate data-driven decision-making.
  • Manage and track project build progress, specifically focusing on critical path identification and the real-time monitoring of subsea infrastructure milestones to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Leverage data to identify potential bottlenecks, propose mitigation plans, and lead stakeholder alignment sessions to implement effective de-risking strategies across the project portfolio.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to gather business requirements and translate technical data into visual narratives and reports for executive management.
  • Establish and publish program metrics and success indicators to drive team consensus on performance gaps.
  • Assess and implement global standardisation across processes, materials, and tooling to streamline communications and ensure consistency in execution across programs.

Additional Information

The Global Submarine Networks (GSN) team designs, builds, and operates the subsea backbone network used by Google to provide its products and services. This international team collaborates with internal stakeholders and an array of suppliers to create construction agreements, oversee the delivery of each cable system, and operate and maintain that infrastructure for high reliability and security.

English proficiency is a requirement for all roles unless stated otherwise in the job posting.
