Our Summer Internship Programme offers you the opportunity to join a specific team and contribute to the company's success, through assigned projects and/or involvement with key business as usual tasks, to add real commercial value.

Our 12 week paid summer internship programme provides an exciting opportunity to develop an understanding of the skills needed to succeed in a commodities trading environment, through hands on projects and constructive feedback. You will gain insights into the trade life cycle and how a trading business operates, and have the chance to build a valuable network across the business. Depending on your performance during the internship and your year of study, this could lead to you being considered for a place on one of our Graduate programmes in the future.

Our internships are best suited to those currently undertaking a 3rd level degree or masters, ideally in their penultimate year of studies. This year, we have internship opportunities across a number of departments, including IT, Trading Operations, Analysis, Data Analysis and Finance, and we welcome applications from those with a demonstrable interest in the energy trading industry.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Education Requirements:

  • Currently undertaking an undergraduate or postgraduate degree, or recently graduated.
  • Disciplines not restricted, however degrees such as Engineering, Economics, Business and Accounting, Mathematics, Shipping and Finance may be advantageous.

Skills, Experience and Competencies:

  • Active participation in relevant societies will be viewed positively.
  • Appreciation and interest in commodity trading is essential.
  • Demonstrable interest in current affairs.
  • A proactive and inquisitive nature with the ability to work independently.
  • Previous experience of using coding languages (Python, SQL, etc) will be viewed positively.
