Job Role & Key Responsibilities

  • A senior leadership role responsible for driving engineering performance across a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing site.
  • Lead the engineering function, shape long-term strategy, and ensure reliability, efficiency, and continuous improvement across operations.
  • Lead, develop, and inspire a multi-shift engineering team.
  • Build a high-performance, continuous improvement culture.
  • Define and deliver the site engineering strategy aligned to business goals.
  • Drive improvements in OEE, asset reliability, and downtime reduction.
  • Oversee planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance systems.
  • Lead root cause analysis and problem-solving initiatives.
  • Own and deliver CAPEX projects, including installation and commissioning.
  • Manage engineering budgets, costs, and supplier relationships.
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations and standards.
  • Collaborate with production, quality, and senior leadership teams.

The Ideal Candidate will have:

  • Proven experience in a senior engineering leadership role within FMCG or manufacturing.
  • Strong track record managing multi-shift engineering teams.
  • Experience delivering engineering strategy and site-wide improvements.
  • In-depth knowledge of maintenance systems, Lean principles, and CI tools.
  • Experience managing CAPEX projects and budgets.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • Engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3 or above - electrical or mechanical).
  • Solid understanding of health & safety legislation.

Desirable Skills:

  • IOSH or equivalent health & safety certification.
  • Experience in high-volume, fast-paced production environments.
  • Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making ability.
