Job Role & Key Responsibilities
- A senior leadership role responsible for driving engineering performance across a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing site.
- Lead the engineering function, shape long-term strategy, and ensure reliability, efficiency, and continuous improvement across operations.
- Lead, develop, and inspire a multi-shift engineering team.
- Build a high-performance, continuous improvement culture.
- Define and deliver the site engineering strategy aligned to business goals.
- Drive improvements in OEE, asset reliability, and downtime reduction.
- Oversee planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance systems.
- Lead root cause analysis and problem-solving initiatives.
- Own and deliver CAPEX projects, including installation and commissioning.
- Manage engineering budgets, costs, and supplier relationships.
- Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations and standards.
- Collaborate with production, quality, and senior leadership teams.
The Ideal Candidate will have:
- Proven experience in a senior engineering leadership role within FMCG or manufacturing.
- Strong track record managing multi-shift engineering teams.
- Experience delivering engineering strategy and site-wide improvements.
- In-depth knowledge of maintenance systems, Lean principles, and CI tools.
- Experience managing CAPEX projects and budgets.
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
- Engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3 or above - electrical or mechanical).
- Solid understanding of health & safety legislation.
Desirable Skills:
- IOSH or equivalent health & safety certification.
- Experience in high-volume, fast-paced production environments.
- Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making ability.
