An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Finance Solicitor to join a highly regarded surety team within a leading national firm. Acting for global insurance clients, the team advises on high-value guarantee and on-demand bond facilities across both domestic and international matters. You will work on a broad range of transactional finance matters including facility agreements, recourse structures, guarantee and bond documentation, security arrangements, intercreditor agreements and risk participation structures. The role also offers exposure to related advisory work, including supporting clients in distressed scenarios and in relation to claims arising from guarantees and bonds. This is a client-facing role where building and maintaining strong relationships is key. You will be encouraged to engage closely with clients, develop a deep understanding of their commercial objectives and contribute to the continued growth of the practice. The position offers a high level of responsibility within a collaborative and technically strong team, with a clear opportunity for progression.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified Solicitor with at least eight years’ post-qualification experience gained within banking, finance, project finance or a related transactional discipline. Experience in surety work would be advantageous but is not essential. You will demonstrate strong technical ability, commercial awareness and a pragmatic approach to risk. Excellent drafting skills, the ability to manage complex matters and confidence in client-facing situations are essential. A collaborative mindset, strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to delivering a high standard of client service will be key to success in this role. Experience working with LMA documentation would be beneficial.

The firm is recognised for delivering high-quality legal advice across a range of sectors and offers a supportive environment where lawyers are encouraged to develop their careers and build long-term client relationships.

Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package, together with flexible working arrangements, structured career development and a clear pathway for progression to partnership within a high-performing team.
