The Global Content Partners team at Elsevier collaborates with authors, editors and subject matter experts worldwide to create trusted content that supports digital and print products. As Product Manager, reporting to the VP, Strategy, Product & Business Development, you will be responsible for delivering new capabilities within Elsa, Elsevier's platform for structured content authoring and management. Elsa sits at the heart of how we create and maintain high-quality scientific and medical content. It is used by authors, editors, and internal teams globally to develop, structure, and enrich content that powers both digital and print products. As we evolve the platform, we are investing in AI-enabled workflows, content enrichment, and improvements to the authoring experience, making content creation faster, more consistent, and more scalable. In this role, you will work closely with a global user base and cross-functional stakeholders to identify opportunities, incorporate feedback, and deliver enhancements that improve content creation and management at scale. Leading an engineering squad, you will drive execution and prioritization, ensuring focus on the highest-value work delivering measurable improvements in author productivity, content quality and time to publication.
Responsibilities
- Engage with users and stakeholders to understand workflows, needs, and pain points.
- Translate user needs and product strategy into clear requirements and priorities.
- Balance user value with technical, operational, and organizational constraints.
- Lead day-to-day product execution with an engineering squad, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
- Contribute to product discovery, helping define problems, explore solutions, and validate approaches.
- Deliver enhancements to authoring workflows, content structuring, and content enrichment within Elsa.
- Use qualitative and quantitative data to inform prioritization, trade-offs, and product improvements.
- Work closely with engineering (and data science where relevant) on scope, feasibility, and delivery.
- Apply an understanding of AI to identify and deliver practical solutions within content creation workflows.
Requirements
- Relevant experience in product management or a closely related role.
- Experience owning delivery of product features or capabilities from discovery through to release within an established strategy.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritize, and deliver complex initiatives involving multiple stakeholders or workflows.
- Experience working closely with engineering (and ideally data science) to deliver data-driven or AI-enabled capabilities.
- Proven ability to incorporate user and stakeholder feedback into product decisions and outcomes.
- Excellent understanding of the product development lifecycle, including discovery, delivery, and iteration.
- Experience working in stakeholder-rich or matrixed environments.
