About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Pastoral Support Manager / Head of Year Support to join a welcoming secondary school in Uxbridge this June. This is a non-teaching role focused on behaviour, wellbeing, and pastoral care of a designated year group, with some lesson cover required. You will play a key role in supporting students to succeed both academically and personally. Act as a strong role model whilst maintaining high expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead behaviour management and pastoral support for a year group
- Respond to incidents using restorative and sanction based approaches
- Build positive relationships with students to support engagement
- Monitor attendance and liaise with families and external agencies
- Provide classroom supervision and cover lessons when needed
- Support safeguarding and targeted interventions
- Act as a strong role model whilst maintaining high expectations
Requirements
- Mandatory: Experience working with challenging students
- Experience working with young people (school or similar setting)
- Strong behaviour management and ability to stay calm under pressure
- Confidence supervising classes
- Excellent communication and a proactive approach
- Commitment to supporting students with a range of needs, including SEN
