Job Description
As a Room Leader (Pre‑school), you will support and lead practice within a Montessori nursery and EYFS childcare setting in Wembley, HA9. This opportunity would suit an experienced Early Years Room Leader, Preschool Room Leader, Lead Practitioner, or Senior Nursery Practitioner with a Level 3 Early Years qualification or similar background. The nursery provides a secure, inspiring, and nurturing learning environment where children are encouraged to develop confidence, independence, curiosity, and a love of learning. You will support high-quality early years practice, oversee the daily running of the pre‑school room, promote child‑led learning, and help children prepare confidently for their next stage of education.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support daily practice within the pre‑school room
- Promote high‑quality EYFS provision across learning, care, wellbeing, and development
- Support Montessori‑inspired learning and child‑led development throughout the nursery day
- Create a safe, nurturing, inclusive, and stimulating childcare environment; support children's social, emotional, physical, and educational development
- Build positive relationships with children, families, colleagues, and nursery leadership
- Contribute to indoor learning, outdoor play, creative activities, and pre‑school routines
- Support observations, assessment, planning, and learning framework updates
- Follow safeguarding, health and safety, and nursery policies and procedures
- Maintain accurate documentation and uphold professional early years standards
Requirements
- Sponsorship / right to work: Right to work in the UK required
- Qualification: Level 3 or relevant Early Years qualification preferred
- Experience level: Previous experience as a Room Leader, Senior Nursery Practitioner, Lead Practitioner, or Senior Early Years Practitioner beneficial
- Specialism: EYFS experience required, with Montessori or pre‑school experience advantageous
- Capability: Able to support room leadership, children's care, learning, wellbeing, observations, and development
- Soft skill: Warm, reliable, caring, organised, and confident communicator
- Independence: Able to work professionally as part of a nursery team while using initiative and supporting room standards
