Rare opportunity to join the SCOR Life & Health underwriting team, using your underwriting expertise to support both SCOR and our clients in delivering business strategies. In this role you'll work with a small energetic team to deliver underwriting excellence in all areas of risk management including underwriting service, audits, client relationships as well as philosophy, process & product development. This is a wide and varied role which will suit a curious underwriting professional looking for the next step of their career to be in reinsurance underwriting. We're looking for an individual with a passion for driving change and the ability to work cross functionally to support innovation with the highest levels of risk management.
Responsibilities
- Provide operational excellence and support customers and clients by underwriting cases in line with agreed philosophy and practice within service levels.
- Support underwriting client relationships including meetings and visits, philosophy and process reviews, product development and training.
- Support the writing of high quality business by delivering underwriting audits and being involved in Distribution Quality Management programmes.
- Analysis and production of Management Information to understand and continuously improve underwriting processes to the benefit of SCOR, our clients and the end consumer.
- Work with other teams across SCOR such as data analytics, claims, pricing and marketing to deliver innovation supporting SCOR, and our clients, strategic goals.
- Keep SCOR underwriting at the forefront of change including horizon scanning and attending industry functions representing the L & H underwriting team.
Qualifications
- Technical underwriting knowledge and risk management skills across Life, Critical Illness and Disability benefits, both medical and financial authorities.
- No previous reinsurance experience is required.
- Recent direct office experience is desirable, with knowledge of the key challenges and opportunities facing insurers in the UK & I markets.
- Product and industry knowledge, understanding of the role of underwriting in the Protection value chain and on profitability.
- Experience in delivering underwriting change to improve underwriting process or philosophy.
- Ability to analyse data to inform change.
- Strong relationship builder, ability to manage stakeholders at all levels.
- Collaborative & organised, able to work as part of a small, busy team.
