As Legal Counsel - Europe, you will be a member of a busy broad based Legal insurance team in London responsible for providing general legal and regulatory advice and assistance to include (but not limited to) the following duties:

  • Underwriting, Claims & Ceded Re
  • NDAs
  • Policy wordings & endorsements
  • Binding Authority Agreements & amendments
  • Notices of assignment
  • Lenders' endorsements
  • TOBAS
  • Letters of underwriting authority
  • Claims Handling Agreements
  • Powers of Attorney
  • Secondment Agreements
  • Broker Service Agreements
  • Marketing materials
  • General corporate and regulatory compliance issues
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts on change/transformational projects, especially related to regulatory/legal change programs
  • Other ad hoc legal support and analysis as needed

Skills and Abilities

  • Legal qualifications essential and must be a qualified Solicitor
  • Proven post-qualification legal work experience in insurance/reinsurance
  • Strong written and collaborative communication
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to work in an international, multicultural environment within financial services
  • Ability to prioritize conflicting needs and progress matters proactively and follow through on projects to successful completion
  • Pro-active approach to problem-solving and good decision-making capability
