School: Backwell C of E Junior School (Backwell Junior School) - 0900 - location: School/Office. Pay scale: JG4 - SCP 7 - 11 (£26,403 - £28,142 full time equivalent; £7,834 - £8,350 pro rata).
Key Tasks
- Provide direct instructional support in whole class, small group, and individual settings following work plans created by the teacher/SENDCO and with teacher support.
- Deliver brief, intensive, structured interventions supplementing the classroom learning and enabling pupils to retain access to high quality universal provision.
- Act as 'teaching triage': while roving the classroom keep pupils on task and flag those needing extra help, facilitating assessment for learning.
- Facilitate development of essential learning skills through scaffolded techniques (e.g., EEF scaffolding framework) to promote independent learning.
- Assist teachers with planning, preparation, assessment, and other administrative tasks to support learner progress.
- Foster and maintain supportive relationships with all children.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the setting, working under SENDCO direction, including providing intimate care when required.
- Supervise and deliver structured activities for pupils during lunch breaks, with a focus on physical activity and behaviour management.
- Maintain professional development through self-directed learning and continuous improvement.
- Contribute to the school's aims and objectives, adhering to safeguarding, conduct policies, and safer working practices.
