The Laboratory Administrator is responsible for supporting the efficient and compliant operation of the laboratory by managing administrative processes, documentation, and communication. This role ensures that all records, supplies, and regulatory requirements are maintained to the highest standards, enabling laboratory staff to focus on delivering excellent patient care and laboratory outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Comply with company policies.
  • Collaborate with laboratory team to deliver excellent patient care.
  • Ensure safe practices, reporting incidents appropriately and swiftly.
  • Help to identify areas of improvement within laboratory administration.
  • Prepare and organize daily laboratory paperwork, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up to date.
  • Handle communications with patients that do not involve clinical advice, such as scheduling, information requests, and general queries.
  • Monitor and support in the management of laboratory supplies and inventory to ensure resources are available as needed.
  • Support with the organisation of the maintenance of laboratory equipment, ensuring everything is properly documented.
  • Support with movement of samples between centres.

At more advanced levels, the Laboratory Administrator may also be involved in:

  • Support or conduct audits to ensure compliance with laboratory standards and regulatory requirements.

Education & Professional Qualification

  • University degree, or equivalent
  • Fluency in verbal and written local language
  • Fluency in verbal and written English is desirable
