DP World are recruiting for a skilled and dedicated Health & Safety Officer to join our growing team in Coventry. This role is to prevent accidents, injuries, and work‑related illnesses in the workplace. They have a large number of duties to ensure that the workplace maintains high standards of Health & Safety.
About The Role
How you will contribute:
- Development and maintenance of the company health and safety management systems and procedures.
- Responsible for the co‑ordination of risk assessment activities including record keeping.
- Accident investigation activities including record keeping.
- Analysis of risk assessment, near miss and accident data to present to the senior management team.
- Chairing health and safety reps meetings, presenting data, recording actions and maintaining the progress on the actions.
- Assessment of training activities - company health and safety procedures.
- Working with the operational teams to improve the working environment, reducing the impacts to the employee from operational activities.
- Conducting internal audits, workplace inspections and health & safety tours to the prescribed frequency.
- Design and develop written health and safety procedures.
- Responsible for all liaison of Environmental Policy Issues / Processes.
- Maintaining and improving the RPN of the risk register.
- Investigating and reporting accidents in a timely manner.
- Maintaining the internal audit program so that there are no overdue audits.
- Maintaining the legal compliance register.
Your Key Skills/Experience
- Minimum of 5 years experience in a H&S role, preferably in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
- Meet deadlines consistently.
- Strong office administration skills including complete knowledge of Microsoft Office Professional, accurate & precise, ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Ideally of Graduate calibre, with a minimum of a NEBOSH certificate.
- Familiar with ISO45001 & ISO14001 management systems.
- Internal auditing qualification either ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001.
- Good communication skills - both written and verbal (procedure, presentations and training).
- Proven experience in a similar role.
