You will be responsible for a range of human resources matters including:

  • Employee relations;
  • Learning and development including induction of new staff;
  • Payroll administration and relevant systems maintenance;
  • Application of terms and conditions including Fixed Term Contracts, redeployments and Worklife Balance policies;
  • Employee Resourcing, i.e. Recruitment and Selection;
  • Management of compliance with relevant contracts and associated frameworks, i.e. Agency, occupational health and employee counselling services;
  • Change management;
  • Staff complaints administration.

About the department: With over 1,400 staff, the City and Neighbourhood Services Department delivers frontline services essential to the daily lives of Belfast residents. This includes:

  • Open Space & Street Scene - Managing parks, green spaces, and street cleansing operations.
  • Neighbourhood Development & Regeneration - Overseeing community centres, health and wellbeing initiatives, active living, and community safety.
  • Regulatory & City Services - Providing environmental health services, dog and pest control, port health, emergency planning, and bereavement services.
  • Strategic Waste Management - Leading waste collection, recycling, and fleet management.
