A new veterinary surgery is set to open, providing an opportunity for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to take on the role of Head Vet from the very beginning. The position offers full clinical responsibility and the chance to establish a practice from the ground up, including building a team and shaping how care is delivered.

Responsibilities

  • Perform hands on clinical work and deliver high standards of first opinion medicine and surgery.
  • Guide and support the clinical team, ensuring governance and patient care standards.
  • Develop colleagues, foster a positive and collaborative culture, and build lasting relationships with clients and the local community.
  • Shape team performance and long term success of the practice.

Qualifications

  • Confident and experienced Veterinary Surgeon with solid general practice experience.

Working Pattern

Typically involves four days per week with nine hour shifts, a one in four weekend rota, and an average of 39 hours per week. Administrative time is built into each shift to keep workloads manageable.
