Redfield, Bristol (BS5). Full-time Fixed Term until 31 August 2027. Salary: £32,916 - £51,048 (M1-UPS3) + TLR 1B (£12,521). Start date: ASAP. Monarch Education is proud to be working in partnership with a thriving multi-academy trust school in Redfield (BS5) to recruit an inspiring and driven Head of Maths to cover maternity leave until 31 August 2027. The Role

  • Provide strategic leadership for the department, ensuring high quality teaching and strong outcomes for students across all key stages.
  • Play a central role in shaping the curriculum, supporting staff development, and driving continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Maths department to deliver consistently high standards.
  • Support, coach and develop teaching staff to enhance performance and practice.
  • Plan and implement an engaging and ambitious Maths curriculum.
  • Monitor student progress and use data to inform targeted interventions.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school and uphold the trust's values.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a strong background in Maths teaching.
  • Experience in a leadership role such as Head of Department or Second in Department.
  • A proven track record of raising attainment and improving outcomes.
  • Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
  • A collaborative approach and commitment to teamwork.
  • A passion for delivering high quality education and supporting student success.
