We are seeking an outstanding, enthusiastic and experienced Early Years leader to join our thriving independent school in Camden as Head of EYFS from September 2026. This is an exciting opportunity for an inspirational practitioner to lead and develop a dynamic Early Years department, ensuring the highest standards of teaching, learning and pastoral care. The successful candidate will bring a strong understanding of the EYFS framework, a passion for child centred learning and the ability to lead a committed team in delivering an exceptional early years experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the EYFS department, including Nursery and Reception provision.
- Drive excellence in teaching and learning across the Early Years setting.
- Develop and implement an engaging, creative and ambitious EYFS curriculum.
- Monitor pupil progress and ensure high levels of achievement and wellbeing.
- Support, mentor and appraise EYFS staff to maintain outstanding practice.
- Foster strong partnerships with parents and carers.
- Ensure safeguarding, welfare and health & safety requirements are consistently met.
- Contribute to the wider life of the school through events, assemblies and enrichment opportunities.
- Work closely with the Senior Leadership Team to support whole school development priorities.
Qualifications
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Significant experience teaching within EYFS.
- Proven leadership or management experience within an Early Years setting.
- Excellent knowledge of the EYFS framework and current educational practice.
- Strong organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.
- A nurturing, enthusiastic and collaborative approach.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
