Job Role & Key Responsibilities
A senior leadership role responsible for driving engineering performance across a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing site. You will lead the engineering function, shape long-term strategy, and ensure reliability, efficiency, and continuous improvement across operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, develop, and inspire a multi-shift engineering team
- Build a high-performance, continuous improvement culture
- Define and deliver the site engineering strategy aligned to business goals
- Drive improvements in OEE, asset reliability, and downtime reduction
- Oversee planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance systems
- Lead root cause analysis and problem-solving initiatives
- Own and deliver CAPEX projects, including installation and commissioning
- Manage engineering budgets, costs, and supplier relationships
- Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations and standards
- Collaborate with production, quality, and senior leadership teams
The Ideal Candidate will have:
- Proven experience in a senior engineering leadership role within FMCG or manufacturing
- Strong track record managing multi-shift engineering teams
- Experience delivering engineering strategy and site-wide improvements
- In-depth knowledge of maintenance systems, Lean principles, and CI tools
- Experience managing CAPEX projects and budgets
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills
- Engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3 or above - electrical or mechanical)
- Solid understanding of health & safety legislation
Desirable Skills:
- IOSH or equivalent health & safety certification
- Experience in high-volume, fast-paced production environments
- Strong analytical and data-driven decision-making ability
