Your key responsibilities

  • Shape and articulate solutions to complex technical problems working with stakeholders from EY, clients, and tax authority contacts.
  • Prepare high quality technical deliverables across a broad range of complex transfer pricing issues to a standard ready for Partner review.
  • Lead the efficient and successful delivery of technically complex and demanding transfer pricing projects, ensuring technical excellence and a practical/business driven approach that creates value for the client.
  • Utilise EY's market leading technology and AI enabled solutions in delivering client services, and contribute to the continued development of these technology solutions.
  • Build, maintain, and lead relationships with key client contacts to provide high levels of service, focusing on technical excellence and a practical/business driven approach.
  • Actively seek to partner with a diverse range of EY client serving teams to identify new opportunities, expand the scope of existing engagements, and provide specialist support in the delivery of complex engagements spanning a range of tax and commercial issues.
  • Utilise commercial networks and relationships internally and externally and manage resulting flows of opportunities.
  • Contribute to the development and growth of junior staff through effective supervision, coaching, and mentoring.
  • Lead practice development initiatives, e.g. thought leadership, people initiatives, or business development.

Skills and attributes for success

  • Significant transfer pricing experience, technical expertise through all stages of the transfer pricing lifecycle, and a proactive approach to continued professional development.
  • Ability to quickly build strong relationships across all levels, both with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills in a range of situations-both written and oral-and the ability to flex style to match the audience, including experience dealing with senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to identify areas of risk, carry out effective reviews, and know when to refer issues upwards.
  • Client focused mindset and strong commercial awareness.
  • Ability to solve problems creatively and pragmatically, taking a strategic approach.
  • Significant experience in managing, coaching, and developing junior members of the team.
  • Project management skills, the ability to plan and prioritise work, meet deadlines, and monitor own budget and time.

Ideally, you'll also

  • Hold an ACA, CA, ACCA, CTA, or Tax Inspector qualification with full Technical Training Course; or a Law qualification; or a CFA; or have breadth of knowledge equivalent to a Tax specialist qualification.
  • Parlay proven ability to read and interpret existing and new tax statute.
