House Duties and Pastoral Care
Organise and lead staff in the management of house duties and pastoral care. Ensure the students are being supervised at all times during the course, such as wake up, break times, afternoon and evening activity sessions, meal supervision and bedtime duty. Course Directors will live in their assigned boarding house and will contribute to the smooth running of the house, working collaboratively with all staff to provide a strong and competent welfare service; ensuring the physical and mental well-being of students and the correct reporting and logging of incidents. Build good rapport with students to ensure that you get to know them on a personal level.

Operational Planning
Work alongside the school Events team, Sean Duvall and head office pre-arrival in order to ensure that sufficient preparation and planning has been completed. This includes managing the Airtable system, corresponding with staff and students, the purchasing of equipment/tickets, and notifying the school of the necessary information they need. Alongside the Senior Management Team, ensure that the afternoon and evening programme, as well as excursions have been carefully planned and that facilities have been booked pre-course. Work closely with all members of the school team to maintain strong working relationships, before, during and after the course.

Staff Management
Provide academic direction for the entire team ensuring that staff are working to the best of their abilities. Lead by example in setting standards for behaviour and work ethic, displaying a calm, positive and supportive manner. Conduct and lead regular team meetings and lead senior management team meetings. Lead the online and physical inductions of the team with support from your SMT. Organise and facilitate regular individual review sessions for each staff member to help ensure that all staff are delivering the expected standard of work and managing relationships appropriately. Line manage the Director of Studies and Assistant Directors (SMT) competently, confidently and professionally, monitoring their performance and providing support, guidance and training where necessary in order to ensure that the on-site academic and social programme, as well as excursions, are of outstanding quality. Ensure that effective care, welfare and medical service is provided to students that meets students' needs and matches parent expectations. Ensure that all admin procedures are carried out diligently and on time.

Student Management
Manage students appropriately, consistently and fairly at all times, according to their age, background and circumstance. Make every effort to help them feel integrated into part of your Summer School community. Encourage and support them towards building relationships of their own and wholly contributing to a positive environment. Ensure students are treating other students and staff members with due respect. Personally deal with any major disputes, complaints or conduct issues relating to students in line with the CSS Behavioural Policy.

Safeguarding and Discipline
Set the disciplinary and behavioural framework for all staff and students. Be aware of the necessary steps to take should the rules be broken. Ensure that all pre-course online safeguarding modules have been carried out and completed. Check that all incidents have been recorded and logged correctly. Communicate regularly with the on-site medical team and parents regarding students who may have specific medical requirements. Strictly follow the rules set by the medical team for dispensing medication. Ensure all staff and students know the fire drill procedure. Ensure that health and safety policies are being adhered to at all times, allowing for a safe and positive environment.

Morning Meeting
Alongside the Senior Management Team (SMT), lead the Morning Meeting, in which staff members entertain and energise students for the day ahead.

Administration
Oversee and manage all aspects of administration. Coordinate pre-course communication with Head Office, the school team, parents, agents, bookings teams and the SMT. Send welcome emails and level tests to students and agents. Ensure all staff are fully informed of plans for induction, online training and arrival. Alongside head office, check that all necessary staff documentation has been sent, including DBS, payroll and contact details. Alongside the SMT, prepare the necessary pre-course documentation and share it with the school team where necessary. This includes facility bookings, student and staff lists, room lists, dietary and medical requirements, catering requirements, and excursion plans. Manage correspondence with parents and the school during the course, and ensure that emails are responded to professionally and within an appropriate time frame. Oversee and ensure the completion of all student and staff assessment documentation, including end of course reports, teacher observations, and staff assessment forms. Ensure that all incidents are reported and recorded on the CSS portal.

Quality Control
Make sure that the entire programme is being delivered by the staff professionally and diligently. Be responsible for ensuring that all quality control processes are completed to a professional standard, such as incident reporting and record keeping. Lead daily staff meetings and weekly review sessions. Ensure that equipment and facilities are well respected and not being damaged. Carry out the appropriate discipline procedures should rules be broken.

Transfers
Alongside the Transfers team at Head Office, oversee the schedule for arrivals and departures in order to provide a professional Transfer Service in which every student is met on time on arrival and checked in promptly for their flight on departure. Ensure staff are assigned and transport arranged for every transfer.

Excursions
Ensure that excursions are well planned and that all bookings have been made in advance. Check pick up and drop off times and locations with coach companies. Ensure staff are informed of the daily plan and that POAs are filled out diligently and in detail, outlining specific roles. Ensure that staff are trained for what to do in worst case scenarios. Be prepared to go on excursions when you feel your leadership is required or allocate an experienced and reliable staff member in your place.

All staff will contribute to the overall smooth running of the camp. Ultimately the safety of children is paramount, and the high standards expected of working with top brands needs to be maintained. It is a requirement for our staff to maintain high personal standards and demonstrate a friendly, positive and approachable manner. It will be necessary to handle sensitive situations with care and respect, adhering to confidentiality and data protection guidance. Staff are also expected to remain professional and calm, display excellent organisational skills and be positive role models, thus allowing them to contribute to a wholly positive and enriching working environment.
