The Pilates Instructor is responsible for delivering safe, engaging, and effective group Pilates instruction in accordance with all Club Pilates guidelines and expectations.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 450-hour comprehensive Pilates certification, including: Mat, Reformer, Chair, Springboard
  • Experience working with supporting Pilates apparatus beyond the reformer, including: Cadillac, Springboard, Chair
  • Up-to-date CPR & First Aid certification (and willingness to maintain)
  • Comfortable learning and incorporating additional modalities, including: TRX, Functional Standing Movement (Barre), TriggerPoint
  • Strong anatomical knowledge with a high attention to safety
  • Proven ability to teach group reformer classes, with modifications for varying abilities
  • Experience teaching 6 or more participants in apparatus-based group classes
  • Open availability for a minimum of 6 hours (2 shifts) per week
  • Passion for continued learning and willingness to complete ongoing education and workshops
  • Team-oriented with a positive, professional attitude
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Confident public speaking ability
  • Punctual, reliable, and professional at all times
  • Ability to identify areas for improvement and communicate proactively with management
  • Strong problem-solving skills and sound judgment
  • Ability to work harmoniously with clients, management, and fellow instructors
  • Professional, neat, trustworthy, and able to maintain confidentiality
  • Proficient in (or willing to learn) Mindbody software for basic use

Essential Duties

  • Deliver Pilates instruction including: Group apparatus classes, Private and semi-private sessions, Special/private events
  • Ensure safe and effective use of all equipment, including but not limited to: Reformer, Chair, Springboard, TRX, Hand weights, Magic Circle
  • Conduct visual inspections of equipment prior to each class to ensure safety and functionality
  • Maintain studio cleanliness and return equipment according to studio standards
  • Arrive 10-15 minutes prior to each scheduled class or session
  • Participate in marketing initiatives and community events as needed
  • Stay current with and implement all Club Pilates education standards
  • Uphold honesty, integrity, and professionalism at all times

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

  • Ability to stoop, kneel, bend, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, and perform repetitive movements
  • Ability to lift up to 20 lbs and move or push equipment as required
  • Prolonged standing
  • Visual acuity required
  • Ability to speak and hear clearly in one-on-one and group settings
  • Ability to think and process information quickly, clearly, and accurately
  • Strong reasoning skills with the ability to follow detailed written or verbal instructions
  • Ability to remain calm and solve problems logically under pressure
