We are working in partnership with a growing and well established mechanical contractor delivering projects across public and private sectors, including healthcare, education, and commercial environments. Due to continued expansion, our client is looking to appoint an experienced Commercial Manager to take on a key leadership role within the business. This is a unique opportunity to step into a position with real influence; overseeing multiple projects, managing a small commercial team, and playing a central role in shaping and developing the commercial function as the business grows.
As Commercial Manager, you will take responsibility for the commercial performance of multiple live projects, while also driving improvements across systems, reporting, and overall commercial strategy. This role offers a balance of strategic oversight and hands on involvement, making it ideal for someone looking to step up or broaden their impact within a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee commercial performance across multiple live projects
- Full P&L responsibility across projects and business unit
- Review, negotiate, and manage commercial contracts
- Develop cost plans, budgets, and financial forecasts
- Lead project performance reviews, focusing on profitability and risk
- Improve and implement commercial processes, systems, and controls
- Establish consistent financial reporting across all projects
- Support and enhance commercial awareness across operational teams
- Manage, mentor, and develop junior Quantity Surveyors
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement within the commercial function
