We are looking for a Befriender Volunteer to provide meaningful companionship at our supported living service in Liverpool. Volunteering with Creative Support is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of people with support needs while working alongside our team to deliver truly person centred care.

We're seeking someone who is warm, sociable, and a great listener. As a befriender, you'll spend time with one of the people we support, offering friendly conversation and companionship through regular meet ups. If you can spare a couple of hours and are able to volunteer on a regular basis, we'd love to hear from you.

Activities might include getting out and about in the community, listening to music, or simply spending enjoyable time together. If this sounds like something you'd enjoy and you can offer a few hours on a regular basis, we'd love to hear from you!

This role is based in an independent supported living service for adults with mental health needs.

Volunteer duties:
  • Meet on a regular basis
  • Provide companionship and conversation whilst respecting boundaries
  • Help people we support to engage with the local community, supporting social inclusion and encouraging independence
  • Report any safeguarding concerns to Creative Support staff members
  • Understand and work within Creative Support Policies and procedures, respecting boundaries
  • Attend regular supervisions with your allocated volunteer supervisor and complete any training provided
