The predicted salary is between 39.11 - 39.11 £ per hour.
We have an exciting opportunity for educational professionals with backgrounds in literature who have an interest, experience and passion in teaching courses in one or more of the following areas:
- Ancient, medieval and renaissance literature (daytime, early evening or weekend face‑to‑face course/s).
- Black British literature: might include award-winning, best-selling authors; emerging voices; and early/little‑known texts (daytime, early evening, evening or weekend face‑to‑face course/s + online evening courses).
- Global literature: either from a transnational perspective or with a particular emphasis on, for example, South Asian, Caribbean, East or West African literature (daytime, early evening, evening or weekend face‑to‑face course/s + online evening courses).
- 21st century literature: might include British, American, European and Global literatures (daytime, early evening, evening or weekend face‑to‑face course/s + online evening courses).
You will be a key contributor to our Humanities department, where our renowned high‑quality courses focus on inspiring students to explore and develop their knowledge, understanding and critical faculties. The department is committed to widening participation and to decolonising the curriculum. We are particularly interested in tutors who can introduce students to texts that expand their appreciation for diverse literary voices.
You will be part of a supportive team and receive plenty of opportunities for developing your teaching practice in ways that centre learning. You will particularly attract our interest if this covers:
- Demonstrable experience of teaching your subject to adults or groups of adults
- A teaching qualification (desirable but not essential)
- Up to date knowledge and enthusiasm for the subject that can inspire students.
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience of teaching online (desirable but not essential)
