Lee Valley Regional Park Authority is responsible for the 26 mile long, 10,000 acre park with its huge variety of award winning green spaces, world class sports venues and ecologically vital wildlife havens. This role involves operating farm machinery, including tractors and attachments, monitoring and feeding livestock, checking and managing supply stocks such as feed, handling livestock and ensuring appropriate accommodation, grass rolling and drilling, maintaining accurate records, and working effectively as part of a team.

The main duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Operating farm machinery including tractors and attachments
  • Monitoring and feeding livestock
  • Handling livestock and providing appropriate accommodation for them
  • Working in a team and keeping records
  • Grass rolling and drilling

Entry requirements:

  • You must have a tractor licence
  • You must have Beef cattle experience
  • You must be confident and hard working
  • Driving licence is required as will need to drive machinery

Training to be provided. You will be supported by an assessor throughout your apprenticeship. As you progress through your apprenticeship your duties and responsibilities will alter as you develop the skills for a successful career in agriculture. Training will be a mix of face to face and online learning. You will gain a Livestock Technician Level 3 qualification with further opportunities for training to Level assistant farm manager, development and permanent employment upon completion. Upon successful completion there is the opportunity for a permanent position and further training on the L4 Assistant Farm Manager Apprenticeship.

Location: Lee Valley Regional Park Authority, Myddelton House, London, Greater London, United Kingdom, EN2 9HG

At a Glance:

  • Working week: Monday to Sunday on a rota, between 6am and 8pm
  • Duration: 17 Months
