An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced and proactive Conveyancing Legal Secretary to join a busy and well-established residential property team based in East London. This role is ideal for a highly organised individual who thrives in a fast paced legal environment and enjoys providing high quality support to fee earners while delivering excellent client service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Audio typing and preparation of legal correspondence, emails and documents
  • Drafting and amending conveyancing documents from dictation
  • Managing file opening and closing procedures
  • Handling incoming calls, client enquiries and message management professionally
  • Monitoring post and emails, responding where appropriate
  • General administrative support including photocopying, scanning, printing and arranging couriers
  • Assisting with billing processes and liaising with accounts departments
  • Requesting cheques, arranging bank transfers and processing client monies
  • Preparing legal documents including: Lease extensions, Deeds, Completion statements, Land Registry forms
  • Using the Land Registry Portal efficiently and accurately
  • Providing reception cover when required

The Ideal Candidate

  • Previous experience as a Legal Secretary within Conveyancing/Residential Property
  • Strong audio typing and document production skills
  • Excellent communication and client care skills
  • Confident handling sensitive information with professionalism and discretion
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritise workloads and work proactively within a busy team
  • Experience using the Land Registry Portal preferred
