With a strong track record across energy infrastructure and storage, our client is delivering large scale projects that support the transition to a more sustainable energy future.

As the Quality Control Lead, you will play a key role in supporting the construction and commissioning of a utility scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project. Working closely with project management, engineering, construction teams, and equipment vendors, you will oversee quality assurance processes, conduct field inspections, manage documentation, and ensure all work is completed in accordance with project specifications, applicable codes, safety standards, and manufacturer requirements. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands on field experience while contributing to the successful delivery of a major energy infrastructure project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation and monitoring of project quality management systems throughout construction and commissioning.
  • Conduct field inspections and audits to verify compliance with approved drawings, specifications, installation standards, and quality requirements.
  • Monitor implementation of Project Quality Plans, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), checklists, and turnover documentation.
  • Identify, document, and track non conformance reports (NCRs), punch list items, and corrective actions through to resolution.
  • Review quality documentation, inspection reports, testing records, and commissioning packages.
  • Support supplier and vendor quality activities, including FAT reviews, shipping inspections, and SAT documentation.
  • Provide quality input on RFIs, submittals, field changes, installation procedures, and commissioning plans.
  • Verify installation quality through inspections, photographic documentation, and as built reviews.
  • Maintain accurate quality records, turnover packages, and compliance documentation within project management systems.
  • Coordinate with engineering, construction, safety, and project teams to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and standards.
  • Participate in daily site walks, coordination meetings, toolbox talks, and safety briefings.
  • Support commissioning readiness activities and verify completion of required inspections, testing, and closeout documentation.
  • Monitor construction activities to ensure adherence to approved IFC drawings, specifications, and revision controls.
  • Provide daily reporting on quality performance, construction progress, non compliance issues, and project risks.

What You Bring

  • High school diploma, technical qualification, or relevant construction/engineering education preferred.
  • 3 years of Quality Assurance / Quality Control experience within renewable energy, power generation, substations, industrial construction, or related infrastructure projects.
  • Working knowledge of quality management systems, inspection processes, NCR management, and document control procedures.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, installation standards, and construction documentation.
  • General understanding of power generation and energy infrastructure equipment.
  • Familiarity with NFPA, NEC, OSHA, and other applicable industry standards.
  • Strong organisational, documentation, and reporting skills.
  • Ability to work in active construction environments and varying weather conditions.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to project sites as required.
  • Valid driver's license.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to walk, stand, climb, bend, kneel, and work on uneven terrain for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions and active construction environments.
