The predicted salary is between 46300 - 52800 £ per year.

As a Clinical Lead Nurse for Palliative and End of Life Care you will provide evidence-based specialist palliative care and advice to patients, families and staff to ensure the delivery of high quality, person centred palliative care over 7 days. You will also be responsible for the continued development of the service in collaboration with the Consultants and Assistant Director of Nursing. You will link closely with other teams and departments across the trust and more widely across organisational boundaries.

Main duties of the job:

  • Provide clinical and managerial leadership to the Specialist Palliative Care Team
  • Work collaboratively in the development of palliative and end of life care services
  • Provide specialist advice for complex referrals, advising the multi professional teams on clinical management plans as required
  • Maintain good relationships / communications with all disciplines within the Trust
  • Act as a Lead in the development and implementation of relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and protocols
  • Ensure compliance with organisation policies and procedures and national, legal and professional standards

Qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse (Adult)
  • Health related degree
  • Relevant post registered qualifications in cancer/palliative/end of life/bereavement care
  • Advanced communication skills training
  • Clinical assessment skills
  • Evidence of study at Masters level

Knowledge:

  • Experience as a Clinical Nurse Specialist within a palliative/end of life care setting
  • Wide range of experience in providing multi disciplinary education within the specialist field
  • Experience of undertaking and applying research, audit to deliver the clinical governance agenda
  • Demonstrated involvement in contributing or leading development of protocols, policies and guidelines

Skills:

  • Advanced clinical skills in managing complex palliative/end of life care situations
  • Evidence of involvement in developing/leading a team with effective people management skills
