We are looking for a Junior Sous Chef to join a busy, high-quality pub and restaurant in Maida Vale. This is a great opportunity for a strong Chef de Partie or existing Junior Sous Chef who wants to take the next step in a serious food led kitchen. The venue is a stunning four storey pub, with a different guest experience across each floor. The food is built around British produce, strong suppliers, seasonal ingredients and proper cooking. You will need to be confident in a fast paced kitchen, able to lead from the front, and comfortable supporting a team through busy service.
Responsibilities
- Supporting the Sous Chef and Head Chef with daily kitchen operations
- Leading sections during busy service
- Preparing, cooking and presenting high quality seasonal dishes
- Helping maintain consistency, standards and attention to detail
- Supporting junior chefs with training, prep and service organisation
- Assisting with stock control, labelling, storage and rotation
- Maintaining strong food safety and kitchen hygiene standards
- Contributing ideas for seasonal menus and new dishes
- Helping create a calm, positive and professional kitchen culture
Qualifications
- Strong Chef de Partie or Junior Sous Chef experience
- Experience in a fresh food kitchen
- Experience in premium pub, casual dining, fine dining or quality restaurant
- Understanding of classical cooking techniques
- Confident working under pressure
- Strong food safety and kitchen safety knowledge
- Commitment to consistency, presentation and detail
- Effective communication and leadership by example
- Desire to learn, progress and grow within the business
