An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Workforce Development Team at the North West Ambulance Service for a Business Support Officer. It is a full-time role on a fixed term basis to provide maternity cover (37.5 hours per week) and is based at Trust Headquarters at Ladybridge Hall, Bolton.

The successful post holder will be responsible for providing a high level, professional and confidential support function to the Workforce Development Senior Management Team (SMT). The role will ensure the SMT is fully briefed and prepared for their respective activities to deliver their part of the corporate agenda. It will also support the delivery of responsibilities in respect of the NHS and any relationships or activities participated in across a local, regional, or national footprint.

About usNorth West Ambulance Service NHS Trust provides 24 hour, 365 days a year accident and emergency services to those in need of emergency medical treatment and transport. Our highly skilled staff provide life saving care to patients in the community and take people to hospital or a place of care if needed. We also provide non emergency patient transport services for those patients who require non emergency transport to and from hospital and who are unable to travel unaided because of their medical condition or clinical need. Alongside the other emergency services, we also work to ensure the safety of the public and treatment of patients in the event of a major incident. We also deliver the NHS 111 service in the North West. NHS 111 replaced NHS Direct in 2013. This service was introduced to make it easier for people to access local NHS healthcare services in England. It provides non emergency medical help fast, and is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
Person Specification- Ability to plan and organise work independently to support senior officers workload and achieve deadlines.
- Ability to analyse a wide range of complex information and summarise accordingly.
- Forward looking thinker who actively seeks opportunities and proposes solutions to bring new approaches to old problems.
- Proficient use of MS Word, MS Excel, MS Powerpoint, email and internet applications.
- Takes initiative and consistently drives for high quality service delivery.
- The ability to act with discretion and understand the need for confidentiality.
- The ability to prioritise and balance a range of competing tasks and deliver within required timescales.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
- Ability to produce accurate, high-quality reports, minutes, presentations, briefings requiring attention to detail at all times.
- Degree level qualification and/or equivalent experience in business administration.
- Knowledge of information needs at senior management level.
- Knowledge of health economy structures and responsibilities to facilitate effective liaison.
- Minimum three years working in similar role.
- Experience in preparing reports and action plans.
- Demonstrable experience of dealing with matters of a highly sensitive and confidential nature.
- Proven experience of servicing senior management level meetings and producing minutes to a high standard of accuracy within a short timescale.
- Proven experience in managing office systems.
- Working together - demonstrate collaborative and inclusive working and challenge behaviour that is not inclusive or acceptable.
