Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Stock and Materials Management: Book materials and consumables in and out of stock accurately. Maintain up-to-date stock records using company IT systems. Carry out regular stock checks and report shortages or discrepancies. Ensure materials are stored safely and appropriately.
  • Tools and Equipment Management: Manage tools and equipment issue and return systems. Maintain asset registers for tools and equipment. Coordinate statutory inspections and servicing in line with LOLER requirements and PUWER regulations. Ensure all compliance documentation is accurate and up to date.
  • Yard Management: Maintain a safe, organised, and efficient yard environment. Manage incoming and outgoing deliveries. Ensure segregation, storage, and housekeeping standards are maintained. Support loading and unloading activities.
  • Compliance and Testing Duties: Assist with PAT testing of electrical equipment. Manage ladder inspections and ladder registers. Support face fit testing administration and records. Ensure all compliance activities align with company procedures and HSEQ requirements.
  • Driving and Logistics: Drive company vehicles as required. Transport materials, tools, and equipment to and from sites.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • Previous store / stores experience.
  • Strong IT literacy with the ability to use stock control systems.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Good organisational and record-keeping skills.
  • Ability to work safely and follow procedures.
  • Previous experience within an engineering, MEICA, utilities, or construction-related sector.
  • Forklift licence (training can be provided for the successful applicant).

Training and Development

  • Forklift training (if not already held).
  • PAT testing training.
  • Ladder inspection and management training.
  • Face fit testing training.
  • Any additional role‑specific or statutory training required to support compliance and business needs.
