Are you passionate about people, hospitality, and creating exceptional workplace experiences? We're looking for a proactive, people-focused Hotel HR Manager to join our team and play a pivotal role in shaping our culture and supporting our hotel to deliver excellence every day.
As the Hotel HR Manager, you'll manage the HR function within the property, supporting leaders, developing our teams, and ensuring compliance while making our hotel a brilliant place to work. You'll partner closely with the General Manager, People Partner and Head of Departments to attract, develop, and retain fantastic talent across the business.
Your day to day:
- Be fully involved in the recruitment and onboarding cycle of all employees, from supporting managers with advertising vacancies, candidate screening, participating in interviews and completing all onboarding documents.
- Ensuring every new team member receives a detailed, informative and welcoming induction to the company, property and department.
- Complete all payroll input and prep for the central payroll team, for 4 weekly and salaried employees.
- Supporting and coaching managers with the absence management process ensuring a fair process for all employees.
- Coach and mentor managers with rota accuracy, payroll forecasting, and scheduling best practice.
- Coordinate the performance and talent review cycle, ensuring all team members receive great performance conversations.
- Promote the company's training calendar and development opportunities including developing team members through apprenticeships academies.
- Audit training matrices and deliver company bite-size training sessions where required.
- Working alongside the People Team, provide advice and coaching on grievances, disciplinaries, performance and absence management.
- With HODs, manage both long- and short-term absence, utilising Occupational Health when needed.
- Manage the employee engagement initiatives, lead the staff forum, and promote wellbeing and benefits.
- Ensure HR compliance across right-to-work, visas, and mandatory training.
- Produce people metrics reports to present insights and recommendations at People Reviews.
What We're Looking For:
We are looking for someone with at least 3 years demonstrable experience, who is currently an HR advisor or above, ideally within hospitality or a similar fast-paced environment. You will be qualified in a minimum CIPD Level 5, whilst a CIPD Level 7 is desirable or the equivalent experience.
You will be a confident communicator who can build trust and strong relationships. You will be comfortable with coaching managers and handling employee relations with confidence. Having experience delivering training sessions would be desirable.
You will be someone highly organised with great attention to detail and have the ability to manage a sometimes-reactive workload. We are looking for someone who is genuinely passionate about people, culture, and have proven examples of providing an exceptional employee experience.
You'll be working closely with the General Manager and Head of Departments with a workforce of about 130. This is a stand-alone role, working in property and is ideal for someone who loves being a true generalist, enjoys variety day to day and looking to step into an HR Manager role.
