Our client is an early stage, high growth business operating at the intersection of media, technology, and community. They’re looking for a HR & Talent Manager to join their team who can establish and grow their HR Function. With growth accelerating, there is a clear need for them to build strong foundations around people, culture, and capability and this role has been created to own and shape that journey from the ground up.
As HR & Talent Manager, you will take full ownership of the people function in a fast moving, early stage environment. This is an opportunity to be the first dedicated HR and talent hire, working closely with the leadership team to design, build, and deliver people practices that enable growth. The role is broad and hands on, spanning recruitment, HR operations, performance, and day to day people matters. You will be moving between strategic thinking and practical execution, bringing structure where it adds value while maintaining pace and flexibility.
Key Responsibilities- Establish clear, proportionate HR processes suited to a growing business.
- Own employment contracts, HR systems, and employee records.
- Ensure compliance with UK employment law and relevant regulations.
- Deliver effective onboarding and offboarding experiences.
- Support managers with performance management, feedback, and development.
- Contribute to progression frameworks and career structures.
- Handle employee relations matters with sound judgement and discretion.
- Support compensation benchmarking and review processes.
- Lead end to end recruitment across a wide range of roles.
- Support broader operational needs in a small, hands on team.
- Identify people or organisational gaps and address them proactively.

Requirements- Solid HR and recruitment experience gained in a start up, scale up, or high growth business.
- Demonstrated experience hiring technical or specialist roles.
- Good working knowledge of UK employment law and HR compliance.
- Confidence partnering with senior stakeholders and engaging candidates directly.
- Strong organisational skills and calmness under pressure.
- A pragmatic approach that balances structure with speed.
- Willingness to take ownership of whatever needs doing to help the business succeed.
