This is more than just a job - it's a chance to be part of a service aiming to support patients in their own home, rather than being admitted to a hospital.

The administrator role is an essential role, ensuring the resources are available for the clinicians to carry out their role, and supporting with administrative tasks. Please note that this Band 3 role is part time, 22.5 hours per week.

Main duties of the job:

  • To support the team in the day-to-day running, tasks include ordering PPE and consumables, recording data regarding the caseload and answering the phone.
  • Word processing of reports and letters, including amending and tidying documents prepared by others, drafting routine correspondence for approval by the team members and taking formal minutes of meetings as required, using software packages as appropriate, e.g. Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Maintain and update IT and Maintenance databases with any Team issues.
  • Keeping office systems up-to-date (e.g. bring forward), devising and maintaining efficient filing, clerical and office systems, and providing general support within the team.
  • Helping with meetings organised within the Team and writing up the notes.
  • Attend MDT meetings as Admin support.
  • Receive and sort internal and external mail and deal with each appropriately.

Person Specification:

Qualifications: General standard of education to GCSE level or equivalent

Experience:

  • Recent secretarial or administrative experience
  • Experience of data inputting, databases, spreadsheets
  • Experience of working in a health or social care setting
  • Experience of ordering supplies and maintaining stock

Skills:

  • Able to use time effectively and prioritise work through good organisational skills
  • Able to use IT systems and keyboard skills including accurate data recording skills
  • Able to use recognised IT packages e.g. Microsoft Office including Excel
  • Able to communicate effectively with customers, carers and health and care specialist services and colleagues
