The predicted salary is between 45000 - 55000 £ per year.

You will own compensation insight and cost control across the business. You will track and manage pay against budgets, provide clear analysis to senior stakeholders, and embed market data into hiring and reward decisions. This is a hands-on role. You will work with complex datasets, influence senior decisions, and bring structure and discipline to compensation activity across Benchmark.

What you'll do

  • Compensation cost and budget management
    • Track salary, bonus and equity costs against approved budgets
    • Monitor risks, variances and emerging pressures, with clear recommendations
    • Work closely with Finance to align forecasting, reporting and planning
  • Analysis and reporting
    • Build and maintain compensation models for forecasting and scenario planning
    • Produce clear, decision-ready insight for ExCo and senior leadership
    • Analyse large datasets accurately and efficiently
  • Annual and in-year pay activity
    • Support annual compensation reviews and out of cycle changes
    • Track budget usage and adherence to frameworks
    • Maintain clear, audit-ready documentation
  • Benchmarking and market data
    • Own benchmarking across job families and roles
    • Translate market data into practical pay guidance
    • Manage relationships with external data providers
  • Hiring and Talent Acquisition support
    • Provide pay guidance into hiring and offer decisions
    • Support benchmarking for new and replacement roles
    • Drive consistency and budget discipline across hiring
  • Advisory and stakeholder support
    • Partner with HRBPs and leadership on pay decisions
    • Provide clear, evidence-based compensation advice
    • Simplify complex data for non-technical audiences
  • Share plans and equity
    • Support equity and share plan administration
    • Track participation, costs and reporting requirements
  • Acquisitions and integration
    • Support compensation analysis for acquisitions
    • Provide input into due diligence and integration decisions
    • Assess pay structures, schemes and alignment
  • Governance, risk and equity
    • Identify and analyse pay risks and inconsistencies
    • Support pay equity and risk reviews
    • Maintain controls aligned to governance requirements, including SM&CR principles

The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need

  • Experience in compensation, reward, or analytics roles
  • Strong experience managing compensation budgets or cost envelopes
  • Advanced Excel skills, including modelling and data analysis
  • Confidence working with large datasets and complex reports
  • Experience presenting insight to senior stakeholders

Desirable

  • Experience with share or equity programmes
  • Experience supporting annual pay reviews
  • Exposure to external market data providers
  • Financial services or regulated environment experience

The base: You'll be based at the Benchmark Head Office, within our Broadlands Business Campus near Horsham in West Sussex but will need to be present across our other offices, including the main Schroders headquarters in London.
