Are you ready to lead a dynamic Health, Safety, Environment and Quality function within a fast-paced recycling and waste management business? We are seeking a proactive and experienced Health, Safety, Environment and Quality Manager to own and evolve the company's HSEQ strategy. This leadership role will involve managing and enhancing industry certifications, conducting robust audits and working closely with operational teams to embed best practice across the business. You’ll champion a strong safety and environmental culture, ensuring the business not only meets regulatory requirements but continuously improves performance, supports customer confidence and strengthens the reputation for responsible and reliable recycling solutions.
Responsibilities
- Leading and developing the HSEQ function across the business, including managing ISO standards and other certifications.
- Acting as the primary point of contact for all HSEQ matters, engaging with internal teams, external regulators, and key stakeholders.
- Conducting investigations into incidents, near-misses, and safety observations, ensuring appropriate reporting and corrective actions.
- Overseeing internal and external audits, maintaining accurate documentation, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
- Coordinating HSEQ training programmes, facilitating safety committee meetings, and promoting a safety-first culture.
Qualifications
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to influence, challenge, and drive safe behaviours.
- A solid understanding of ISO management systems and environmental certifications.
- Proven experience managing HSEQ functions within relevant industries.
- NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent.
