Based at Dove House Hospice, Chamberlain Road, Hull, HU8 8DH. Works 37.5 hours per week, 09:00-17:00 Monday-Friday with occasional evenings and weekends.
Job Summary
Help create a safe and sustainable environment where compassionate care can thrive. Dove House Hospice is looking for a proactive and experienced Health, Safety & Sustainability Manager to lead our approach to health, safety and environmental practice across the organisation. This key role ensures our patients, families, staff, and volunteers are supported by a safe, compliant and well managed environment.
Responsibilities
- Leading and improving health, safety and environmental management systems
- Keeping policies up to date and aligned with legislation and best practice
- Supporting managers to deliver robust risk assessments and controls
- Embedding safe systems of work across diverse teams
- Overseeing incident reporting, investigation and RIDDOR compliance
- Carrying out audits, inspections and fire safety checks
- Working with regulators and external partners where required
Qualifications
- Recognised qualification such as NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent)
- Experience in a health and safety advisory or management role
- Strong knowledge of relevant UK legislation
- Experience of risk assessments, investigations and compliance
- Confidence to support, challenge and influence at all levels
