Head of Bid Management

We are seeking a Head of Bid Management (Global) to lead and evolve our bid function, supporting high-value, strategic opportunities with major city and transit authorities - often exceeding $100m.

The Role

• Provide global leadership across our bid function, ensuring the successful delivery of complex, high-value bids while continuously enhancing capability, tools, and processes.
• Lead a high-performing team of bid professionals, setting the standard for excellence in bid strategy, execution, and governance.
• Focus on capability development, including the adoption of AI and digital tools to modernise and streamline bid management.
• Work closely with senior stakeholders across Sales, Product, Engineering, Finance, Legal, and Delivery to shape winning strategies and ensure alignment across all aspects of major pursuits involving integrated hardware and software solutions.

What You'll Be Doing

• Lead and develop the global bid management function, driving consistency, quality, and best practice across regions.
• Provide strategic oversight and direction on major, complex bids (often $100m+), including direct leadership of priority opportunities.
• Define and embed bid governance, methodologies, and frameworks to support scalable, repeatable success.
• Partner with Sales leadership to shape win strategies, value propositions, and competitive positioning.
• Build, mentor, and inspire a high-performing global team of bid managers and contributors.
• Drive the adoption of AI and digital tools to improve efficiency, content quality, knowledge reuse, and decision making.
• Establish and maintain a bid knowledge management framework, including reusable content libraries and lessons learned.
• Lead executive bid reviews, governance forums, and decision checkpoints.
• Ensure robust risk management and commercial alignment across all bids.
• Analyse performance and continuously improve win rates, processes, and team capability.

What You Will Bring

• Significant experience leading large, complex global bids (typically $50m-$100m+).
• Proven track record of leading and developing bid teams or functions.
• Deep understanding of end to end bid lifecycle, governance, and commercial strategy.
• Experience delivering solutions that combine hardware and software in complex environments (e.g., transport, infrastructure, technology).
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at executive level.
• Excellent communication and storytelling capability, with strong attention to detail.
• Experience implementing or leveraging AI/digital tools to enhance bid management processes.

• Experience in public transport, mobility, or smart ticketing.
• Familiarity with public sector or transit authority procurement processes.
• APMP certification or equivalent.
• Experience working across global, multicultural teams.
