As Head Housekeeper at Purley Gardens Care Home in Surrey, you will oversee the housekeeping and laundry cleaning service, ensuring high-quality and comprehensive care for residents. You will support the hospitality services function and maintain cleanliness standards.

Key responsibilities:

  • Carry out all cleaning duties as per the housekeeping job description.
  • Prepare orders for Home Manager approval for cleaning materials with approved suppliers, maintaining stock levels and controlling budget limits.
  • Monitor cleanliness standards of the housekeeping and laundry team.
  • Supervise and direct the housekeeping team, instructing and demonstrating cleaning tasks and materials to new staff.

Requirements and qualifications:

  • Experience in cleaning and managing laundry in a public setting.
  • Knowledge of health and safety, including moving and handling techniques, fire safety, and COSHH assessments.
  • Demonstrated compassion and commitment to delivering high quality housekeeping/laundry service to residents.
  • Ability to lead, supervise, and develop teams.

Additional requirements:

  • DBS Disclosure check (cost met by Avery Healthcare).
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
