We are looking for Retail Volunteers to assist us in our Hatfield shop(s) on weekdays and weekends. If you have a few hours to spare each week and would like to help out in one of our shops, we'd love to hear from you! This is a fantastic opportunity to get involved and make a meaningful impact. Our shops play a crucial role in raising funds to support the essential services of Isabel Hospice.

As a Retail Assistant, you will support and assist the team in maximising the shop's income by ensuring the shop floor is fully stocked and properly merchandised, and customers are served efficiently. We ask you to commit to at least one regular half day weekday session and session times are:

  • AM: 9am - 1pm
  • PM: 1pm to 5pm
  • Sunday session times are 10am - 1pm and 1pm - 4pm.

What you'll be doing:

  • Providing the highest standard of service to customers
  • Keeping the shop fully stocked and ensuring items are displayed to show them at their best
  • Operating tills and taking payments
  • Ensuring both stock and cash security procedures are always followed
  • Contributing to keeping the shop and premises clean and tidy
  • Providing support and guidance to new volunteers to help them settle into their roles
  • Promoting the public's understanding of the work of Isabel Hospice and the importance of raising funds through the shop
  • Raising awareness of Gift Aid to our customers
  • Promoting and applying the Isabel Hospice Health & Safety Policy

Am I eligible to volunteer?

  • At least 18 years old
  • Live within an easy commute to the area
  • Interested in volunteering for at least 6 months for at least 3 hours per week
