Support Officer - Housing Support

Location: Brandon Gate, Hamilton

Hours: 35 hours per week.

Salary: £33,468 - £34,399 per year.

Two posts: one permanent, one fixed term until July 2027.

Responsibilities

As a Support Officer you will deliver a wide range of services to homeless households, including support, case management, and liaison with agencies to safeguard and promote the welfare of vulnerable people.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Similar experience working in a housing support service with clients in vulnerable or distressed situations.
  • Knowledge of current issues and legislation in relation to the protection of children and vulnerable adults.
  • Practical knowledge of IT packages including the Academy & Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to organise, prioritise workload effectively, and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to liaise with a variety of agencies.
  • Willingness to undertake further training/qualifications, including those introduced by the Scottish Social Services Council.

Legal & Disclosure Requirements

Post is excepted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Scotland Act 2020. Post is a regulated role with adults under the Disclosure Scotland Act 2020; applicants barred from working with adults are ineligible. Preferred candidates must join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check before formal offer.

Overseas Criminal Records Check

Applicants born outside the UK or who have lived/worked abroad for at least three months in the past 10 years must provide a translated Overseas Criminal Record Check with evidence of no pending criminal proceedings.
