We are recruiting for a Multi Skilled Operative to join the fantastic team at our Tarmac Greenwich Wharf site in the heart of London. The plant is easily accessible via most major networks, whether this is by road or public transport. Commutable for locations such as Woolwich, Plumstead, Deptford, Bermondsey, Peckham, Eltham, Welling, Bexleyheath, Lewisham and the surrounding areas. We're working hard to create a dynamic and inclusive environment and it's important that our people come from a variety of different backgrounds.
Main Responsibilities
- Securing Tarmac's Ships in dock
- Working at height on the conveyors across the ships and across water
- Operating Mobile Plant on site
- Working with other members of the team to ensure that customers get good quality material and on time deliveries
- Assist the Supervisor with meeting daily/weekly production targets
- Follow SHE policies and procedures
- Ensure plant both fixed and mobile conforms with safety requirements at all times
- Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality responsibilities
- Inspections on the plant, acting on defects and implementing remedial action
- Ensure that plant availability is maximised
- Work to keep housekeeping around the site to a high standard
Previous experience working in a Marine / Maritime / Dock / Asphalt / RMX / Plant / Quarry / Industrial Manufacturing environment would prove highly beneficial; but you must be comfortable working at height and around water. The role requires a degree of flexibility to meet the plant's production requirements with overtime available.
