Greenwich Business School is looking for a proactive and externally focused candidate to join our Postgraduate Placements Team as a Senior Faculty Employer Engagement & Placement Advisor. This important role will help build and maintain strong relationships with employers, alumni and industry partners to create meaningful opportunities for our students. This is an exciting and varied role for someone who enjoys networking, building partnerships and turning employer relationships into real outcomes.
You will play a key role in developing a strong student recruitment network for the Faculty, supporting employers to engage with our students through placements, internships, graduate roles, mentoring, projects and employer‑led events. Working closely with the Faculty Employer Engagement & Placement Manager, you will help grow our employer base across relevant sectors and support the delivery of high‑quality employer engagement activity across postgraduate and wider Faculty provision. The role will also include some student‑facing activity, particularly where it supports students to engage effectively with employer opportunities.
Key responsibilities:
- Building and maintaining relationships with employers, alumni, professional bodies and sector partners to generate placement, internship and graduate employment opportunities.
- Working with employers to create meaningful engagement opportunities, including recruitment activity, networking events, employer panels, mentoring, live projects and sector insight sessions.
- Supporting the delivery of impactful employer events that connect students with industry and improve employability outcomes.
- Working with academic colleagues and programme teams to identify priority sectors and employer opportunities linked to student needs.
- Promoting Greenwich Business School students and programmes to employers and external partners.
- Using employer feedback, labour market insight and placement outcomes data to inform future engagement activity.
- Supporting students where required to engage with employer opportunities, placement activity and recruitment events.
- Maintaining accurate employer and partner records to support effective relationship management and reporting.
- Working collaboratively with placement operations and compliance colleagues to ensure opportunities are appropriate and align with university requirements.
About you:
We are looking for someone with experience of employer engagement, business development, graduate recruitment, careers, placements, account management or external partnership work. You will be confident approaching employers, building professional relationships and identifying opportunities that can benefit students. You will be a strong communicator with excellent organisational skills and the confidence to represent the Faculty externally. You will enjoy working with a range of stakeholders and will be able to turn conversations with employers into practical opportunities, events and outcomes. You may already have experience in higher education, graduate recruitment, careers or employability, but we are also interested in candidates who have built strong employer or sector relationships in other settings. What matters most is your ability to develop partnerships, create opportunities and contribute to improved placement and graduate outcomes.
Equality and Diversity:
We are committed to building a strong, diverse workforce that reflects the communities we serve. We particularly encourage applications from protected characteristics who are currently under‑represented within the University of Greenwich at these levels/within these areas. We encourage applicants to disclose experience of mental health problems so we can support them fully during our recruitment process and make any necessary reasonable adjustments. Any information disclosed will be kept confidential and separate from the job application form.
