Position Overview: Wellbeing and Activities Assistant at Springwood Corner Care Home, Gravesend.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Wellbeing Coordinator in providing a wide range of activities to engage and stimulate residents' physical, cognitive, and social well being.
  • Maintain a safe living and working environment and contribute to the positive and professional image of the home.
  • Report any changes in residents' physical or emotional condition to the Wellbeing and Activity Coordinator, Home Manager, and care staff.
  • Order and prepare supplies for upcoming activities as directed.
  • Establish links with the local community (e.g., schools, spiritual groups, museums/libraries) to encourage access to the wider community and promote intergenerational activity.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Effective communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Understanding of the role interaction plays in the general well being of people.
  • Positive attitude toward older people and commitment to providing stimulating, quality activities and social events.
  • Prior experience working with older people in a residential nursing/dementia setting.
  • Live the values of caring, supportive, honest, respectful and accountable.

Requirements:

  • ADBS Disclosure check; the cost will be met by Avery Healthcare.
  • Proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Pass the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975; submission for Disclosure to DBS.
