Can you bring Strategic HSE experience and influence improvement in a manufacturing environment on a global scale? Are you an effective communicator who loves to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams and stakeholders to ensure a world class HSE program? As the Global HSE Advisor you will lead the development and execution of health & safety, environmental management, vision, mission strategy and functional excellence for the Flexible Pipe product line of Baker Hughes on a strategic and global scale.
You will play a leadership role in shaping and delivering the Interdependent Safety Culture, developing influential skills to achieve objectives while positively influencing others to develop new solutions that minimize risks to employees and the environment. You will work collaboratively across all areas of the business working through the entire product and project cycles from inception to installation. You will influence stakeholders related to ensuring adequate resources are in place through executive leadership planning activities (Capex reviews, cost reviews, headcount allocation). You will drive process improvements, strategy and change to ensure timely and effective execution of the Baker Hughes HSE Program Globally.
As our Global HSE Advisor you will also be responsible for:
- Defining a coherent and comprehensive strategy that enforces higher safety standards and expectations, developing, establishing and maintaining Product Line new programs, new procedures, new standards and risk assessments and coordinating HSE efforts with the Regions towards verification of implementation and compliance.
- Providing subject matter expertise, counsel and technical assistance to all FPS stakeholders to achieve Health, Safety and Environmental goals and drive the necessary risk reduction strategies of the wider Baker Hughes business.
- Developing and maintaining FPS HSE risk management strategy and tools, driving ownership & accountability across the product line.
- Working within a matrix organization to hold regional execution teams accountable for delivery of the FPS HSE risk management strategy.
- Collaborating with the Product Line organization in the development process to ensure higher safety standards and anticipate HSE risks due to new or upgraded processes, tools and services.
- Conducting HSE audits and facilitating self‑assessments as required to ensure compliance with the HSE Management System and industry standards.
- Coaching, training and mentorship for HSE professionals globally that support FPS facilities & operations for PL specific risks.
- Advising and guiding the FPS executive Leadership Team regarding compliance to governmental regulations, environmental permitting, improvement projects, and both internal and external processes, and procedures, for specific FPS business matters.
- Monitoring global HSE performance, analysing trending of events and concerns. Identifying or creating programs and initiatives to improve performance.
To be successful in this role you will:
- Significant experience working in a global organisation within manufacturing, oil & gas, or a comparable high risk industry.
- Proven track record in a senior HSE leadership, Quality, or Service Delivery role.
- Strong working knowledge of HSE management systems, local regulatory requirements, and internationally recognised standards.
- Proficiency in Bowtie analysis, HAZOP and HAZID assessments, project risk assessments, and the development of comprehensive Risk Management Plans.
- Demonstrated capability in applying Human Performance principles to strengthen safety, quality, and operational reliability in high risk industrial environments.
- Experience integrating Human and Organizational Performance (HOP) concepts, including coaching leaders and frontline teams on error reduction, supporting psychological safety, and driving learning focused, just culture behaviours.
- Ability to analyse human factors in incident investigations, identify systemic drivers, and lead sustainable behavioural and organisational improvements across complex manufacturing operations.
- Strong understanding of global HSE legal frameworks with the ability to interpret and translate requirements into practical, operationally relevant guidance.
- A continuous improvement mindset with the ability to prioritise, influence, and embed change that supports a strong and enduring safety culture.
- Demonstrated ability to perform effectively under pressure and navigate ambiguity in dynamic, complex environments.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to motivate cross functional teams within a matrix organisation.
- Ability to work effectively in a vibrant, culturally diverse environment while engaging constructively with a wide range of personalities and senior leaders.
