Lead PET CT Technologist - Nuclear Medicine, Department of Clinical Physics and Bioengineering in Glasgow

Based within a progressive and research‑active Nuclear Medicine service, you will lead a skilled multidisciplinary team while ensuring the smooth day‑to‑day running of PET CT services. Duration: Permanent

Base Location: Gartnavel Hospital

Hours: Full Time (36 Hours)

Working Pattern: 9 hours per day, over 4 days (Mon-Sun 08:30)

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the day‑to‑day delivery of PET CT services, ensuring safe, efficient and patient‑centred care
• Provide line management, supervision and development support to technologists, assistants and clerical staff
• Plan, prioritise and coordinate workload, including urgent and complex patient pathways
• Ensure compliance with IRMER and radiation safety regulations alongside departmental policies and procedures
• Oversee equipment performance, quality assurance and safe use of highly specialised imaging systems
• Contribute to service improvement, clinical trials and the development of new protocols and procedures

Qualifications and Experience

• Degree‑level qualification in a relevant scientific or radiographic discipline or equivalent experience
• Significant experience working within Nuclear Medicine or PET CT services, including advanced imaging procedures
• In‑depth knowledge of radiation protection legislation, including IRMER and associated regulatory frameworks
• Proven leadership or supervisory experience with the ability to manage and develop teams effectively
• Experience in quality assurance, clinical governance and safe operation of complex imaging equipment
• Demonstrated involvement in service development, research or clinical trials activity
