Qualifications
  • Be enthusiastic and have a good work ethic and a flexible approach to working hours
  • Carry out cleaning tasks quickly and effectively
  • Assist in basic food preparation

  • Assist in checking storage area for cleanliness

Responsibilities
  • Dishwashing and Sanitization: Ensure the prompt and efficient washing, drying, and storage of all dishes, cutlery, and kitchen equipment to maintain a clean and organised kitchen.
  • Kitchen Cleanliness: Maintain the overall cleanliness and hygiene of the kitchen area, including sweeping, mopping, and sanitising work surfaces and floors.
  • Waste Management: Assist in the proper disposal of food waste and recyclable materials, following the restaurant’s sustainability guidelines.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Support the kitchen team by cleaning and maintaining kitchen appliances, utensils, and equipment to prolong their lifespan and functionality.
  • Stock Management: Assist in organising and rotating stock, ensuring ingredients and supplies are readily available to the kitchen staff.
  • Assistance to Chefs: Provide support to the chefs and kitchen staff as needed, such as preparing ingredients, fetching supplies, and assisting with basic food preparation tasks.
  • Health and Safety Compliance: Adhere to all health and safety standards, following proper procedures for handling and storing chemicals and kitchen tools.
  • Team Support: Work collaboratively with the kitchen team, offering help during busy periods and ensuring a positive and efficient work environment.
  • Cleaning Schedules: Follow the cleaning schedules and routines established by the kitchen management to maintain a consistent level of cleanliness throughout the day.
  • Food Safety: Handle food products with care, ensuring they are appropriately stored and labelled to prevent cross‑contamination and maintain freshness.
  • Organisation: Maintain a tidy and orderly storage area, helping to keep track of inventory and easily locate kitchen supplies when needed.
  • Recycling Initiatives: Support the restaurant’s efforts in recycling and waste reduction, ensuring that recyclable materials are separated correctly.
  • Delivery Management: Assist in receiving and organising deliveries, checking for accuracy and proper storage of perishable items.
  • Compliance with Policies: Follow all company policies and procedures, including uniform and grooming standards, to maintain a professional appearance.
