As a Painting & Decorating Apprentice, you'll learn the core skills needed to become a qualified tradesperson while working alongside experienced professionals on site. Your apprenticeship will combine hands-on experience with college learning, helping you develop both practical and technical knowledge.
- Learning all aspects of painting and decorating across a variety of environments
- Preparing surfaces ready for painting and decorating work
- Using a range of tools, materials, and equipment safely and effectively
- Assisting with painting, wallpapering, and finishing tasks
- Learning different decorating techniques and industry standards
- Supporting experienced decorators on live projects and maintenance works
- Following health & safety procedures and safe working practices at all times
- Maintaining clean and organised working areas
- Developing an understanding of colour matching, finishes, and materials
- Attending college as part of your apprenticeship programme and completing coursework
- Building confidence working both independently and as part of a team
As part of your apprenticeship, you'll complete a Level 2 Painting & Decorating qualification. This will include approximately 20 weeks at college during your first year and 10 weeks during your second year, alongside practical on-site experience. You'll be fully supported throughout your apprenticeship with dedicated learning support, experienced mentors, and a team ready to help you succeed every step of the way.
