We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a General Operative/Handyperson to join our NRS Account in NRS Harwell, 10 Rutherford Ave, Didcot OX11 0DF. This role will be based on site.
Hours: 37 hours per week. Schedule: Week 1 - 7:45 - 5:00pm Monday-Thursday; Friday - 7:45 - 12:15pm. Week 2 - 7:45 - 5:00pm Monday-Thursday; Friday - Off. You will need a full UK driving licence (company van provided).
Responsibilities:
- Carry out general portering, cleaning, grounds maintenance and decorating duties as requested by the client via the Amey Management team.
- Perform routine checks on plant and equipment to ensure optimum conditions.
- Address acute internal issues such as blocked drains, toilets and minor spillages.
- Painting and decorating as directed by management.
- Report breakdowns and faults.
- Be aware of the business continuity plan for the area you work in.
- Manual handling.
- Assist with planned maintenance, minor building fabric repairs, routine water hygiene, minor electrical repairs, and grounds maintenance activities as required.
- Have experience in groundwork, brickwork, concreting and hard and soft landscaping.
What you will bring:
- Previous maintenance experience working in a commercial environment.
- General handyman skills including joinery, painting and basic repair tasks.
- Flexibility to carry out duties that are not specific to your trade.
- Hold a full clean driving licence.
- Hold relevant professional qualifications - time served apprenticeship, C&G or equivalent (desirable).
- Knowledge of Health & Safety and safe working practices; all mandatory safety training will be given, specialist training such as IPAF and PASMA will be offered.
- Understands the relevance of toolbox talks, Permit to Work procedures and safe systems of working.
- Flexibility over working hours; may be required to work evenings and weekends to ensure work is coordinated and completed.
- Strong customer care focus.
This role will require a BPSS security clearance.
